ESI Group announces the launch of BM-Stamp, a breakthrough stamping simulation tool that empowers engineers at any expertise level to run processes, from early feasibility checks to precise and predictive simulations, on standard and critical materials like high-strength steel and aluminum— without needing specialized knowledge in finite element analysis (FEM) or meshing. BM-Stamp helps automotive manufacturers reduce costs and improve accuracy, addressing the growing need for faster, more reliable simulations amid rising pressure to cut production time and expenses.

"Learn in an hour, be productive in a day"

BM-Stamp offers an intuitive, process-focused experience that reduces the initial learning curve dramatically, enabling engineers to achieve expected efficiency quickly. Not only does BM-Stamp match the productivity of current tools, but it also enhances accuracy which results in reduced material costs and fewer physical try-outs.

A building block to ESI’s complete and seamless virtual manufacturing chain

BM-Stamp integrates seamlessly with ESI’s broader virtual manufacturing and performance chain that goes from single part manufacturing to assembly and final product structural performance. This integration helps manufacturers better track the origin of  defects, identify influencing stages of the process chain and avoid over-engineering by focusing on key parameters and steps. Overall benefits are a reduction of errors and an accelerated time to market.

"With BM-Stamp, we observed a significant improvement in the accuracy of our sheet metal forming simulations, especially for challenging materials like aluminum across an entire car body. The tool’s ability to reliably predict deformations and surface defects has allowed us to considerably reduce adjustments during physical try-out phases, optimizing both our costs and production timelines," said Ghislaine Couturier, Stamping Innovation Manager, Stellantis.

Mathilde Chabin, Virtual Manufacturing – Product Director, ESI Group: “With over 25 years of stamping simulation expertise and a proven track record of precision, our recent investments, in collaboration with industry partners, have been focused on developing our ergonomic software tool BM-Stamp — an intuitive, easy-to-deploy software designed for all stages of product development.

Its recent adoption in production by OEMs, in replacement of current practices, demonstrates the added value of the BM-Stamp proposal. BM-Stamp fits in an overall ESI strategic intention to address automotive body manufacturing challenges, from stamping to assembly, in a seamless straightforward workflow. BM-Stamp is the first solution to be launched from our new suite of tools that combines efficiency, productivity and highest accuracy. ”
